December 20, 2014 - What a great session with Strom today with Melanie. Worked on a lot of canter lateral work. He is sitting and working so nicely. I had to remember my left and right as well as follow some really quick instructions. Shoulder in to Travers to volte to half volte to shoulder in to travers and changes of directions really quickly. You couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

November 28, 2014 - Monty had a rider on him for the 3rd time.  First time walking around on his own with a rider.  This is one cool cucumber.  Lunges with side reins.

November 15, 2014 - Prospect's Bravestrom at the Tom Dvorak clinic at Dreamcatcher Equestrian.   Worked on refining the collected 3rd level canter, collected trot, collected walk and trot lateral work.   Improving the straightness in the collected canter was a focus as well.

November 17, 2014 - We woke up to a very snowy morning and Britannia was the first take a nice roll in the white stuff

November 1, 2014 -  very pleased how well Britannia handled herself at her first clinic today with Julie Watchhorn.  Only the 6th time off property and 6th trailer ride. She was a little up but settled under saddle and we really enjoyed ourselves. She was very happy to be home and back to her herd though. Odin came with us and was such a good boy. Thank you to the Stonehaven family for inviting us and making us feel so welcome.

October 21,2014 - Now after 6 solid months of under saddle work -Britannia is really coming along.  So pleased with her consistent progress.

October 21, 2014 -Today we did a Bounce Jump Grid with the girls.  At the end of the session the boys switched horses for the first time ever.

October 2, 2014 - Odin - the guardian of Prospect

September 30, 2014 - Prospect' Belmont through the Jump Chute

September 30, 2014 - a pic of Strom as he goes through the chute again.

September 30, 2014 - Another session through the jump chute for Prospect's Britannia.

September 15, 2014- Monty went for a walk about for the first time with a rider. Stephen did a great job and Monty took it all in stride without any issues.

September 12, 2014 - This was Jump Chute Week.  We set up the Chute and everyone had a bit of a run through - some pics and videos of the fun.

Monty was the first to go through the chute.  Easy session for the 3 yr old.

Next to go was Britannia - she loved it so much she just kept going round and round.  Had to stop her to raise the poles.

The Dressage Horse Bravestrom thought Jumping was a lot of fun, like his daughter, he continued to go round and round.  Such power.

Next through the Chute was Prospect's Free Spirit - No effort and a beautiful jump is what this 6 year old is bred for and it shows.

Not to be undone - Lilly was the star of the chute - jumping over 4' in the wide oxer and exhibiting an incredible jump and love of the Chute.

Even little Emma got into the Jump Chute action.

August 31, 2014 - Dreamcrest

Prospect's Lillian and Stephen - Some great moments in dressage produced a test with some 7's and the nicest I have seen Lilly and Stephen all season - all be it a tough judge, a very spirited warmupand a few tough moments.  Stadium on the grass at Dreamcrest saw a very twisty course that Sally Sanisbury put together and was handled to perfection by Lilly and Stephen   - producing one of the few clear rounds.  Ian Robert's Pretraining Cross Country course was the toughest we had ever seen and many riders were commenting on the challenge ahead.  Very few clear rounds cross country - Stephen and Lilly ate the course for breakfast and even with some trotting came through 2 seconds too fast but with fantastic form and no jumping faults - placing them 13th out of a tough field of 26 to finish off their Pretraining Season. While dressage still needs a more consistent base, they are definitely ready to tackle training.

Mitchell and Prospect's Free Spirit at Dreamcrest.  Allie was a distracted young 6 yr old throughout dressage  - something maturity and exposure are sure to work out in the future.  Some beautiful moments and definite improvement from the last test.  Stadium as handled well with only one rail and they handled the challenging cross country course very well with only a round out at the ditch - even still making perfect time.  Seems ditches are something that they need to work on but form is a beautiful thing to watch when it comes to this mare.  The pair finished 17th out of 26 in a tough field.

August 29, 2014 - Kawartha Lakes Dressage Gold Show -We had our last Gold show of the season on Friday - with some of the toughest judges known to man. This was our third show at Level 3 - Strom was a good boy, we had definite progress in our work, especially our extended canter - we got a 7 for that - he was very exuberant and I wasn't sure I could get him back. We had great changes in the warmup - he stole one in the ring, a couple were late-but at least he didn't steal them and we got one - Yeah!!! His extensions were good and we got some 7's on both tests. Last Gold show for us for the season - now we will work hard to rock level 3 next year. We are getting really nice controlled changes at home and we also got a 7 for our shoulder in. It's a bit of a balancing act for me still with the half halts in the canter - too much and not enough leg and he will trot, not enough half halt and he steals the changes because he knows they are coming.  Placed 4th and 6th.

August 24 2014 - Lanes  End Horse Trial Report

Interesting day for Allie and Mitch at Lanes End. Best dressage so far and a good stadium - a bit fast. XC was a bit fast - I think we may have to work on that. She was a bit strong.

Stephen and Lilly had a very exciting cross country at Lanes End today. After jump 14 the left stirrup broke - so jumps 15, 16 a and b, 17, the water, jump 18 and the finish were done with only one stirrup. Stephen had little leverage to set Lilly up and it was all he could do to stay still and trust her to do her job - which she did - you can see the stirrup flying in the pictures. They also had a good dressage test - with a 8. Finished with a 7th.

August 22, 2014

Monty had another lunge session today - starting to come together nicely. Very accepting of the tack. Side reins shall be introduced soon. At the end of the session we had a beginning mounting session. First time at the mounting block and first time with some weight on his back. Stephen even at on him for a few minutes. He still has a lot of growing to do but he is coming along nicely.

August 17, 2014

Glad to report that Britannia and I had a very successful day for her first show. So proud of my 4 year old girl to handle her first show as well as she did. Only the 4th time off property . She trailered great getting on and off 4 times, took an early morning walk to check things out, warmed up in the indoor arena and was really relaxed despite all the strange horses running around.
The rings were really sloppy but she waited patiently to go in. This was the first time seeing a dressage ring with letter stands. She was a little up but listened and was very steerable in her first test. We scored a very respectable 51%.
Going into our second test required the monumental feat of going through huge puddles to get to the ring and even bigger wet patches inside the ring. At this point I think the day was becoming a bit much as we needed to stop and jump each puddle (not required movements in the test) and while I received the comment of skillfully ridden, we finished with 46%.
I am very proud of my baby girl. She never neighed during the tests and other than some inconsiderate person causing a spook, she behaved like a professional. I am so excited to be bringing her along.
Brit was very happy to be home and ran out to the herd screaming her accomplishments for all to hear-either that or she was complaining about what she was subjected to today.

August 13, 2014

Some great pics of Trent - our 4 1/2 month old surprise Colt

August 4, 2014- Schooling at John Hobsons - Good for Allie and it likes like her groove is back. Mitchell was very happy with her progress.  Lilly was unstoppable and an absolute star.  Stephen is feeling very proud of the team they have become.  The water was nice and cooling.

July 26, 2014- Grandview Horse Trials.  Stephen and Lilly had their best dressage yet - with a few 7's, one rail in stadium and a beautiful if faster than PT Time cross country.  Unfortunately the time was too fast and forgot the rule about walking at the end and a walk across the finish line caused 15 faults.  However,  confidence is high and an upgrade to training is in the near future.

July 26, 2014 - Grandview was the first event for Allie and Mitchell this year.   Allie was a little unfocused in dressage but one rail in Stadium and 2 runouts in cross country at least saw a completed event.   A work in progress for this  6 yr old mare.

The Boys having some downtime before Cross Country.

July 19, 2014 - Strom and I had a great day at The Cornerstone Gold Dressage Show. He was so good today both inside and outside the ring. I am so happy. We got some 7's, improved our scores, got some decent changes in the ring this time and qualified for the gold champs. As 51 yr old Ammie showing my very big homebred 7 yr old at Level 3 is a challenge that is bringing a dream to life. I am just so proud of th...e journey we are taking. While I credit all our coaches along the way, I really want to thank Melanie Pais for giving us all the encouragement and insights to compete at this level. Our progress these last several months has been amazing and so much fun. Sorry there are no pics yet- have to wait until I get the CD.

July 3, 2014 - Monty, discovered in the barn after a storm -- he took every blanket and saddle pad down during his escapade in the barn after he escaped from his stall

Prospect's Lillian at Dreamcrest - June 22, 2014 - I am so proud of Stephen and Lilly. They are becoming such a great team. She was so calm today. They got three 7's on their dressage test - including on their canter circle, a picture perfect stadium - even Ian shouted - great round Stephen - and a very good xc - a branch contributed to a run out but other than that it was great and they still made optimum time - which means that Lilly easily has the gallop for upper levels. Their xc was completed in a beautiful rhythm.

June 17 2014 - Britannia had a very busy day yesterday. She had a really good workout at Dreamcrest with her third time jumping and her first crosscountry  -here are a couple pics from the end of cross country - she was getting tired but did great and got into the water too.   Video too.

Level 3 Debut at Cornerstone Gold Dressage Show at Caledon Equestrian Park - June 7, 2014 - Bravestrom and I had a great day at the Spring Dressage show. He was really great. We had great flying changes in the warmup but blew some of them in the tests. But this was our first time at level 3- we got some 6's, some 6.5's in our first testand we were one of the few AA's showing at Level 3. Very happy with my homebred 7 yr old. Lots of room for improvement.  Our Test 2 saw some 7's along with some mistakes but still pleased.  We scored 54 and 53 -not bad for the first time at this level and at a Gold Show.   He was relaxed the whole day.  A big thank you to Stephen Hall for all his help and fantastic pictures.

May 31, 2014 - Britannia is progressing really nicely and I am really enjoying it.  Today was her second ride without lunging, a very forward trot and canter transitions both ways including one complete 20 metre circle, along with a longer hack around the property.

May 29, 2014 - Prospect's Belmont - as a 3 yr old - Starting his education as a horse - Looking a lot like his dad Bravestrom

May 18, 2014 - Prospect's Britannia had a busy week - first clipping, first real bath, first trailer rides and first off property - Lunging and Walking Videos

May 18, 2014 - Counter Canter to Flying Change at Lee Tubman Clinic

May 19, 2014 - Lilly and Stephen schooling at Dreamcrest today.

May 19, 2014 - Allie and Mitchell schooling at Dreamcrest today.

I am so proud of Bravestrom - 2 days of a Lee Tubman clinic and he was fantastic - worked on elements to improve our flying changes and it really did work - flying changes on cue with balance in the canter before and after. I am so excited to show at Palgrave in 3 weeks.

May 17, 2014 - Day one of the Lee Tubman clinic went really well. Strom was very very good and we had some real progress on our counter-canter and had good flying changes.  Afterwards a nice hack around the property.

April 28, 2014 - Riding 4 yr old Prospect's Britannia - she had 2 weeks off because I was ill, but didn't miss a beat and we had our second canter transition.

Our 4 yr old Prospect's Britannia is turning into a real beauty. April 11,2014 - first time out in the summer pasture.

March 29, 2014 - Odin and Trent finally meet and Odin gets to see where his blankets are

Some  videos of Trent's first adventure into the arena on March 25, 2014

March 24 and 25, 2014

We welcomed Emma's son - Trent on March 24, 2014 at 8:30 pm.    Emma came in for dinner at 6:30 with some wax and by the time we came out after volleyball Trent was being cleaned up by his mommy.  He is a leggy bay colt with a small white star and dash on his nose with some white on both front feet.  Definitely Prospect coloring.  On his first full day he was visited by the Vet and explored the Arena with his blanket on.

March 12, 2014 - horrible snow storm here today.

March 9, 2014 - Beautiful day for a Hack with Strom

February 6, 2014 - Christina Handley visited Prospect today for a photo shoot - here are a couple preliminary pics with some interesting affects.

January 18, 2014 - Emma's belly is getting bigger!!!!!

Some Face pictures of the young ones taken at the beginning of January, 2014  our homebred now 3 yr old Belmont and his full sister Britannia - now 4 yr old homebred.
